I have to be up early tomorrow to get to Oreillys. But I think I found a way to get my neighbors to stop putting peanuts out (or any animal feed for that matter). According to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in a local newspaper, its illegal under state law to lure wildlife with food. I think I’ll just report them to The Colorado Division of Parks & Wildlife.

Thanks for telling me about this. In college, I always just thought that squirrels were so cute and that I wanted to put ALLTHEPEANUTS.jpeg outside so all the squirrels can come and I can take pictures, but now I know what can happen and I won’t do that.

In college, I wanted to put out peanuts so I can lure squirrels to come closer to my room so I could take pictures of them, but it never occurred to me that they might take shells to someone that might be allergic to peanuts.

Ya, something that happened right after the last update:
She nearly jumped in front of my truck with her arms spread in the air like she was saying “BOO! HAHAHA!” I stopped, threw it in reverse, rolled down my window and yelled “WHAT DID YOU JUST DO!??!”. They both had their backs turned to me.
And apparently the neighbors on the other side complained to them 2 months ago about the shells and they gave them the same shtick with no actual action.

Good to know that you have some legal grounds for this. Good luck buddy. It would have been infuriating to think that I could be bullied at any moment by the HOA but you literally have no recourse for a situation that puts your life in danger.

Considering my contempt of HOAs, I can imagine a vast cornucopia of corruption. Plus there’s almost no oversight until the whole neighborhood rebels.

Nothing like a good old fashioned official looking cease-and-desist letter from a lawyer to intimidate your crazy neighbors.
They’re obviously crazy.
Anyone who says “feeding these squirrels is more important to me than fulfilling the requests of several of my neighbors to stop feeding the squirrels,” is loco.
If all else fails, take them to court, then you can be all like,
